A year in review: Wilmslow 2012

2012w

As 2012 draws to a close it is that time again to take a look back at the biggest news stories of the past 12 months in Wilmslow and share some statistics with our readers.

During 2012 the wilmslow.co.uk web site has been visited over 235,000 times and monthly traffic has doubled over the course of the year! Those numbers exclude the use of our mobile app which is showing strong audience growth and is now used nearly 10,000 times a month.

We managed to publish over 700 articles this year and those articles have received over a thousand comments. It is great to see more and more people voicing their opinion on the topics we cover and we hope that trend will continue in 2013.

As you can see from the list below the issues of most interest to our readers in 2012 were: plans for a gypsy site on land off Moor Lane; the building of a new £60m headquarters for Waters Corporation off Altrincham Road; the Wilmslow Artisan Market and plans to shape the future development of Wilmslow.

Coverage of the first Wilmslow Motor Show was also very popular, which we very much hope will be held again in 2013, and the annual Wilmslow Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday 24th March 2013.

Both as Chairman of a local charity (Wilmslow Wells for Africa), and personally, I would like to add my appreciation of your website. I always look at the weekly updates when they are emailed to me so that I don't have to rely on the sporadic delivery of the local paper to know what is going on. Your coverage of our charity fund-raising events is very helpful. Thank you!
