A teenage girl from Wilmslow has died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning whilst staying at a campsite in Shropshire.
Hannah Thomas-Jones is thought to have been poisoned by fumes from a disposable barbecue which had been left in the porch of the tent overnight.
West Mercia Police were called to the campsite in Bucknell, South Shropshire, just after 10am yesterday morning (Sunday 6th May) by the Ambulance Service, who were already attending the scene.
On arriving at the site, officers found a family of four all being treated for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning by paramedics.
Sadly Hannah Thomas-Jones, 14, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, while her parents Phil and Danielle and teenage brother Ben were all quickly rushed to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Her brother Ben was described as being stable but still 'unwell' at the hospital this morning, while her parents are now in a comfortable condition.
Detective Inspector Gavin Kinrade said: "We are treating the girl's death as unexplained, but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."
Friends have left messages on a Facebook page which has been set up in memory of Hannah, who was a pupil at Wilmslow High School and a keen hockey player.
Shelby Lloyd wrote "R.I.P Hannah you will be sadly missed bye all of your family and friends you will always be misted and there will always be in everybody hearts forever and ever you are 1 in a million we wish we could change turn back time , you always cheered us up when we were sad you always made people laugh and never got upset easily even if you were you always carried on as normal Hannah everyone loves you ! ♥ R.I.P."
Laura Jane wrote "We all love you Hannah, you're such a kind loving person who always made others happy even if you didn't mean too. You was a great laugh and people were always happy to be around you."
A brief statement released on behalf of the family by The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital said "Our priority as a family is to ensure that the three people in hospital get well and are fully recovered. We are devastated by this tragic accident and will release a full statement at a later date. We would ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
Our thoughts and prayers are with Hannah's family and friends at this very difficult time.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
Hannah was a Goal Keeper at Alderley Edge Hockey Club and showed great potential. She had recently taken a break from hockey to focus on her important music exams and other commitments. She was a very popular girl and everyone at the club loved her. She always came to training with a different hat on and everyone always had a laugh about it. She will be sorely missed.
We were hoping she would be back next season, now that is not to be.
We will be observing a minutes silence at the beginning of the Hockey section AGM this evening and as a sign of respect the Club flag will fly at half mast. Our sincere condolences go out to Hannah's family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with you. RIP Hannah.
