Food & Drink Week ready to cook up a storm

Wilmslow is gearing up for one of the town's biggest events as with next Monday sees the launch of the Food and Drink Week.

From (Monday, 14th March to Saturday 19th March there will be a number of opportunities to celebrate and showcase the abundance of food and drink suppliers in and around Wilmslow.

Wilmslow Business Group has put together a packed programme of food-related events, discounts and special offers to encourage residents and visitors alike to discover and enjoy the range of food and drink options available. Restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels, cafes and sandwich shops are all participating, including Anthology, Cau, Chocolates Etc, Coach and Four, Crispens, Earlams (Styal), Heddys, Hoopers, Italian Lab, Jackson's Fish and Chips, King William, Lite Delights, Miller and Carter, Peter Herd, Riflemans, Revolution, Rise, Stanneylands Hotel, The Clink (Styal), The Old Dancer, Therapy Organics, Wilmslow Cookery School, and 39 Steps (Styal).

Next Wednesday, Wilmslow Library will stage a presentation entitled Cooking the Books, by Cheshire Archives, from 11am to 12.30pm The free presentation will introduce participants to recipes and remedies from Tudor times through to the fashionable 50 dish dinner tables of the 18th century.

On Saturday, 19th March Wilmslow High School pupils will present their own interpretation of the week in cake form. Their entries will be on display at Trukitchen, Alderley Road from 10am and the event will be judged by Wilmslow Cookery School and Peter Herds of Wilmslow.

Also on Saturday, 19th March, the Artisan Market will be hosting a Cookery Theatre with Chefs on Stage' demos on the hour, talks from food producers, cooking demonstrations on how to prevent food wastage, plus lots of exciting activities for all the family.
