Cyclists of all ages join family ride

Cyclists ranging in age from three to ninety-three took part in the latest family friendly bike ride organised by CycleWilmslow and Transition Wilmslow on Sunday, 15th June.

The eight-mile circuit, around Wilmslow, Styal, Morley Green and Lindow Moss was enjoyed by the twnety-five riders.

Children as young as three took part whilst Philip Briggs, at ninety-three, was the oldest cyclist so far to take part in the series of rides.

A spokesman for CycleWilmslow said: "It was fantastic that Philip joined us. We had no idea of his age until someone told us. Apparently he gets out for exercise six times a week - an example to us all! The riders were surpised at the quality of some of the paths and tracks that you can enjoy on our doorstep - the new path through the Carrs proved particularly popular."

CycleWilmslow and Transition Wilmslow hope to organise a further ride in September. Visit www.cyclewilmslow.org.uk for further information.
