Wilmslow Town Council has confirmed that they will be organising and funding another Party on the Carrs event this year.

Following on from the success of the last two years, they have decided to hold another of these free community events on Sunday 22nd June.

The event will follow a similar format with lots of live entertainment, community stalls and refreshments provided by local businesses.

Councillor Keith Purdom, Chairman of Wilmslow Town Council said "We have had two very successful events attracting good numbers so it was an easy decision to hold another similar event.

"The event brings families into The Carrs and showcases what an outstanding facility we have in our town, there is the proverbial something for everyone and we provide an opportunity for many local talented people of all ages but especially young people to perform in public and entertain visitors.

"The various local charities have an excellent fund raising day and the local businesses who provide the wide ranging fare in the "food Court" have an opportunity to show off their skills and hopefully entice people into their local restaurants.

"We feel it complements the Town Show and Music Show (now combined) and we are keen to keep the dates apart. All part of making Wilmslow a better place to live work and play and we have in the past taken a WTC booth as a mini surgery as well. And it's all run by volunteer councillors and many others so really is a win win win for all in my opinion."

Wilmslow Town Council approved a budget of £10,000 for the event, in previous years it has cost around £6000 so the budget provides some leeway should additional costs arise.
