Special train steams into Wilmslow

The 'Scarborough Flyer' is passing through Wilmslow on Fridays for the next few weeks on route to York and Scarborough.

This special train runs once a week during the summer and is hauled in both directions by a steam locomotive.

The "Scarborough Flyer" leaves Crewe at 7.07am and stops to pick up passengers at Wilmslow at 7.40am, returning to the town at around 10pm.

The photo of the train pulling out of Wilmslow station was taken last month by Richard Bullock and the steam locomotive used on the day trip was the Duchess of Sutherland.

The Scarborough Flyer will be running until Friday September 13th, click here for further information and tickets.

Unfortunately the tour on Friday, 9th August, has had to be cancelled due to operational issues. So the next tour will be on Friday 16th August.

Just noticed this on the website:

"Due to operational issues the tour on 9th August has had to be cancelled.
A letter has been dispatched to all passengers on this tour"
