Wilmslow is blooming ready for judging

With less than a week to go before the RHS In Bloom judges visit Wilmslow, more and more planting is taking place in public spaces and business premises around the town.

The town will be judged as a whole for its community participation so volunteers from Incredible Edible, Friends of The Carrs, Rotary, Town Council, Cheshire East Council and businesses from Wilmslow Business Group have been working together to make Wilmslow bloom.

The RHS judges will visit on Wednesday 10th July when they will be given a tour of the town, including the Rotary Rose Garden and The Carrs where they will see the environmental and riverside maintenance. The judges will also meet with Rangers from Lindow Common to hear about their conservation work.

Helen Yates of Incredible Edible said "We'll have a display up under the gazebo, opposite the library, from 4.30pm on 10th July, should anyone wish to have a closer look at what's been going on around town to work towards the town's entry."

Last year 22 businesses joined Incredible Edible and were awarded a highly commended Silver. Once again the theme is edible planting but this year has seen an increase in activity, with 34 businesses taking part.
