Plans are coming together for a Party in the Park this summer.

Wilmslow Town Council is organising the community event in The Carrs, similar to the one which took place last year to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

They have set aside a budget of £10,000 for this free event will take place on Sunday 16th June.

Councillors are hoping that more schools will get involved this year and there will be more attractions to appeal to the younger generation.

Town Clerk Matthew Jackson said "We are working on one or two things to make it slightly different from last year to do something that's going to appeal to a slightly younger profile and we're trying to get somebody to do some skateboard tricks etc to try to engage with the teenage age bracket."

nothing had happend on the carrs for years then steve wainman organised a charity event on the carrs for sainsburys he had no money to set this event up and what a variety of stalls and attractions he had it would of been a fantastic day if the weather had held off why dont they get him involved and try not to spend 10,000 pound on the event i think he should organise the event and the council not ride on the back of his ideas.
