Preparations are now underway for the 2013 Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival and it's time for local businesses, schools, churches, Scouts, Guides, other organisations and even individual households to get creative and turn Wilmslow into the scariest scarecrow town in the North West from June 28th until July 14th.

Organised by Wilmslow Dean Rotary Club, in association with The Wilmslow Business Group, the Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival is now in its 4th Year and has proved hugely successful. The festival delights young and old alike and continues to be a great attraction to all who visit the town during its 17-day event.

This year's creative crop of scarecrows will be on display from Friday June 28th bringing a dash of colour and fun to every corner of the town whilst causing much head scratching as families seek out answers to win great prizes in the 'Scarecrow Treasure Hunt'

On Saturday July 6th it's the big, bold, boisterous and noisy Scarecrow Parade around the town with the giant Rotary scarecrows Rosie & Robin, the Batala Drumming Band and supported this year by Cheshire Young Farmers.

Then on Sunday July 14th the Wilmslow Show will be held, where a selection of Scarecrows will be on display in Wilmslow Dean Rotary Club tents for all to admire and choose their favourite.

Organiser, Geoff Shelmerdine (Mr Scarecrow) from Wilmslow Dean Rotary Club said, "Once again Wilmslow is buzzing with excitement and even more encouraging is that several new businesses in town are keener than ever to join in the annual 'scarecrow' community event. The Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival is a cost effective and fun way to promote any business/organisation by exhibiting their ingenious scarecrow creations to attract the public. It also says "We mean business and we support the local community."
