Attempted burglary at Handforth pawnbrokers

There was an attempted burglary at a pay dayloans shop in Handforth last night.

Police were called to The Money Shop on Wilmslow Road at 9.18pm on Sunday, 24th March, after its alarm indicated intruders were in the building.

A police spokesperson said "Police attended The Money Shop which was closed at the time, and with the help of the police helicopter made a search of the premises. No one was in the building and it appeared there had been an unsuccessful attempt to steal money."

A forensics team were at the site this morning to carry out an investigation.
