The charity Christmas shop is closing this week so there is only a few days left to pop down to Wilmslow library to buy cards from your favourite charity.

The shop has its last day on Saturday, 8th December, and the 600 volunteers supporting the enterprise in east Cheshire and Trafford can put their feet up for a well-earned rest.

Once again the shops have supported over 50 local and national charities and have ensured every penny of the cards sales goes to the charities.

Organiser Sheila Hallas MBE said "With charities seeing an overall downturn in contributions in the UK, it is critical that we give them as much support as we can.

"It is anticipated that by the time we close local giving via the card shops in 2012 will have been as good as for last year thanks to the loyal shoppers who return to the pop-ups year after year."

The shop is open during library opening times. Full details and a list of the participating charities can be found at www.christmas-cards.org.uk.
