Final preparations are underway for the Wilmslow Christmas lights switch on and this year's celebrations will include Santa's reindeer parade.
The annual celebration will take place on Thursday, 29th November, and, for the first time, Santa and his reindeer will be parading through the town.
The parade, featuring Styal Youth Brass Band and Alderley and Wilmslow Theatre Company, will set off from Sainsbury's at 6.15pm and proceed along the service road on Alderley Road. They will then cross over at the traffic lights and parade down Grove Street to Bank Square.
Local residents are urged to line the streets and cheer Santa as he arrives and children will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the reindeer afterwards when they go into a penned area.
The stage will be located in Bank Square where crowds will be entertained with performances from the cast of Aladdin, including John Altman - nasty Nick Cotton from Eastenders, who are performing at Stockport Plaza.
Also taking to the stage will be choirs from Wilmslow High School and Lacey Green Primary Academy as well as Wilmslow Rock Choir. The evenings entertainment will culminate in the switching on of the Christmas lights, which includes £9000 worth of new trees lights, at approximately 7.30pm.
The event is being organised by the Town Council and Wilmslow resident Erik Garner, who runs Wilmslow Football Academy, will be compere for the evening.
Town Clerk Matthew Jackson said "Everything is going according to plan so hopefully it will be a good event and well attended."
