The scarecrow hunt is on!

Entry forms are now available for the Scarecrow Hunt offering the chance to win some great prizes and have some fun whilst finding scarecrows across the town.

Mums, dads and children need to find the scarecrows, which may be hiding in doorways, windows or even on the rooftops, using the pictures and map grid references on the entry form.

There are nearly 100 scarecrows on display around the town until Saturday 7th July.

Entry forms can be downloaded here, or picked up from any of the shops or businesses displaying a yellow scarecrow poster.

Unfortunately one of the scarecrows taking part in the third Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival has gone missing and staff are appealing for it to be returned safely.

Fred The Scarecrow, pictured left, was placed outside the offices of Converged Business Solutions in the Grove Arcade. He was last seen at about 6.30pm on Saturday, 23rd July, when staff left work and was dressed in a blue business suit with a white and blue shirt.

Sharon Postill said "We arrived on Monday morning to find that Fred has disappeared from outside the CBS offices and all that was left was a trail of straw!!

"We last saw Fred at around 6.30pm on Saturday with a wobbly head but otherwise intact. He was sighted on the floor of Grove Arcade at around 4pm on Sunday looking battered & bruised! That is the last we have heard of him."

Have you seen Fred? CBS have issued a reward of a packet of Jaffa cakes for anyone with any information that leads to his return.

The Batala Drumming Band from Lancaster will parade through the town centre on Saturday, 30th June, with two 12 ft scarecrows Rotary Robin and Rosie. If you're in the town centre you won't fail to hear them as they are very loud. Click here for more information.
