Following publication of the Draft Wilmslow Vision, a second ePetition has been set up calling on the council to save Wilmslow's green belt from development proposals identified within the Wilmslow Vision consultation document.

The petition has been organised by Richard Kinsey, of Stockton Road, for use by all Wilmslow residents.

The petition states that the Draft Wilmslow Vision document does not adequately demonstrate; the need for additional housing in the Wilmslow area; the exceptional circumstances that are required to alter the existing green belt boundaries and that all alternative brownfield sites have been fully explored.

The organisers also feel that the draft document does not give full consideration to; the agricultural merits of proposed green belt sites, the effect on public services, particularly education and health; the effect on the local environment and biodiversity; or the impact of developments close to Wilmslow, particularly the major redevelopment of the former British Aerospace facility at Woodford.

This ePetition runs until Tuesday 31st July and can be signed on the Cheshire East Council website.

So far 201 people have signed this ePetition.

Residents are reminded that this ePetition is in addition to the Wilmslow Vision questionnaire, which must be completed and returned by Thursday 31st May.

All members of a household can sign the ePetition and return a Wilmslow Vision questionnaire.
