Two additional public exhibitions have been announced for the Wilmslow Vision consultation to enable more people to have their say.

Wilmslow Town Council and Cheshire East Council are consulting on draft plans for the future development of the town over the next 20 years, which will be considered by the Council when they put together the Cheshire East Local Plan.

The most controversial element of the draft proposals has been the suggestion that up to 1500 new homes should be built in Wilmslow by 2030, largely on green belt land.

With the public consultation on the draft Wilmslow Vision now being extended until the end of the month the exhibition in the leisure centre will continue until May 31st.

In addition the exhibition will be taken to two other venues in the town where manned sessions will be held.

On Wednesday 16th May the exhibition will be at Dean Row Village Hall on Browns Lane from 5.15pm until 7.30pm.

The following day, Thursday 17th May, the exhibition will be at St Johns Church Rooms on Knutsford Road from 5pm until 7.30pm.

Representatives from Wilmslow Town Council, Cheshire East Council and Broadway Malyan are expected to be available at both exhibitions to answer any questions.

The draft document and questionnaires have been reprinted and should be available to collect throughout this extended period from the leisure centre. Copies will also continue to be available from Wilmslow Library.

The exhibition in the leisure centre will not be available whilst the manned sessions are taking place.

Matthew Jackson, Town Clerk, said "The Town Council welcome the large numbers of responses to date to this public consultation and hope that the additional manned sessions will be used by individuals to ask questions that will help them to add their views in completing questionnaires and forwarding their comments."

Readers can download the draft Wilmslow Vision document which is attached here, along with a copy of frequently asked questions and the questionnaire.

The deadline for submitting the questionnaire is Thursday 31st May.

One questionnaire can be submitted per person, it is not restricted to one per household.
