As part of the Wilmslow Jubilee celebrations hundreds of ducks will race along the River Bollin raising money for local charities.
The Charity Duck Derby will take place in The Carrs, during the Picnic in the Park on Monday 4th June.
1250 little ducks will take part in three different races, each of which will involve five heats with the first ten from each heat going through to the final.
Organiser Dave Cash said "The event is being organised to raise money for local charities as well as provide entertainment for people who attend the picnic."
Whilst individual ducks can be purchased by individual members of the public for £1 each, it is proposed that businesses sponsor the races to help cover the cost of prizes.
The proceeds from the Charity Duck Derby will go to the Princes Trust, Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary, Wilmslow Dean Round Table and Friends of The Carrs who will use the money towards eradicating the Japanese Knotweed.
The races will start at 1pm on Monday 4th June.
Dave Cash will be having a stall at the next Artisan Market on May 19th where tickets for the Duck Derby will be on sale.
