Volunteers are required to help give the town park a thorough spring clean.

Organised by Friends of The Carrs (FOTC) and Cheshire East Rangers, the spring litter pick and clean up of The Carrs will take place on Saturday 21st April.

Colin Shepherd, Chairman of FOTC, said "This annual event helps to keep The Carrs clear of accumulated litter and ensures it is kept in a good condition for visitors. We hope local residents and users of The Carrs will come along to help us with this work.

"All equipment is provided and the afternoon is the perfect opportunity for some gentle outdoor exercise, hopefully in the sun, that also benefit's a far wider range of people."

Volunteers should meet in the Parish Hall car park at 2pm.

A few days later, on Wednesday April 25th, several members of the Friends will be joining Cheshire East Rangers and volunteers from The National Trust to spend the day carrying out more extensive work on The Carrs.

Starting at Twinnies Bridge car park at 10am, it is hoped that further work can be undertaken on the river bank to provide additional protection, including Willow weaving and planting, as well as making an early spring start on removing the invasive Himalayan Balsam. Some other light maintenance work may also be tackled.

Colin Shepherd added "Again we shall be delighted to have volunteers come and join us for all or part of the day. All necessary equipment will be provided."
