A voluntary group, which aims to raise awareness of issues concerning landscape, buildings, and general amenity, are introducing an annual award for the best new or altered building in Wilmslow.

Wilmslow Trust are inviting Wilmslow residents to nominate what they consider the best new or altered building in the town.

Residents can nominate commercial, residential or buildings of other use in the town which were completed during 2011.

The winning building will be chosen by a panel of members of the committee of Wilmslow Trust comprising Ray Acton, a Wilmslow-born local historian, Chris Fasciato and Martin Hoyle, both of whom are architects. Chris is still in practice and Martin is now retired.

Christopher Dodson, Chairman of Wilmslow Trust, said "The owner of the winning building will be presented with a plaque which it is hoped that they will put up on the building."

The panel reserves the right not to make an award if it considers that none of the buildings nominated merits one.

Please send nominations to Martin Hoyle, 2 Wilcott Drive Wilmslow or email [email protected] by Wednesday 29th February.
