A group of young entrepreneurs at Wilmslow High School have formed their own business selling seasonal goods in the run up to Christmas.

The lower sixth students, all aged 16 and 17, have formed a company called Ecoexcell which is part of the Young Enterprise charity, founded in 1963 to forge links between schools and industry.

Ecoexcell manufactures environmentally friendly goods, including black boards and candle holders which they were selling at the Wilmslow High School Christmas Market on Saturday, 10th December.

Alex Booth,16, who has taken on the role of marketing director, told me "This is the fourth market we have attended. We lost money at the one in Bramhall because the location wasn't right but we made quite a bit of money at the two Wilmslow markets.

"We've have been making the blackboards and candle holders between school and our own houses. The only thing we're selling which we haven't made is soaps which we bought in bars and have sliced up to sell."

Ecoexcell are hoping to attend the Wilmslow Artisan Market on Saturday, 17th December, to sell their range of gifts and they have also been in discussions with a couple of local businesses about having their products stocked in some Wilmslow shops.
