Student fashion show raises £3000 for cancer charity

Sixth form students at Wilmslow High School hosted the seventh annual charity fashion show recently which raised over £3000 for charity.

The event was held in aid of the charity 'CLIC Sargent', which specialises in providing care and support for children with cancer.

Lynn Lang, Sixth Form Student Manager said "This is the first time the charity has benefitted from proceeds from the popular fashion show which was only possible thanks to the fantastic support of Hoopers, Boohoo.com, Prettypod, Xpose, White Stuff, Groom Hire, Tuula, SOS, Phase Eight, Harpers & Quinn, Macclesfield College Hair and Beauty Department and MocoLoco. It was also an opportunity to exhibit the uniquely designed fashions from our own 'A' Level and GCSE textile students.

"The 'James Bond' themed show was spectacular; beautiful sixth form models sporting fabulous clothes against a well-dressed set with dramatic sound and lighting. The show was excellently organised by a group of Year 13 textile girls, led by Hope Merrick, Carrie Haywood and Charlotte Pantry, and slickly hosted by Head Girl, Louise Chatfield and her co-compere Jonny Dillon.

"Thanks go to all local businesses, parents, friends and staff who supported the event and provided the many excellent raffle prizes which helped to boost the amount raised to an impressive £3,125.00."
