Diva Fever light up Wilmslow

Crowds gathered on Grove Street this evening to see Diva Fever switch on Wilmslow's new Christmas lights, with the help of Father Christmas.

Lacey Green Junior School Choir kicked off the event, hosted by Imagine FM, which included performances from Clague and Green Dance School, local rock band Forever and A Day, teen sensation Hatty Keane from Macclesfield, jazz singer Alexander Stewart, the Rock Choir and Re Connected who took part in Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

The headline act Diva Fever, from last year's X Factor, performed for the crowd before switching on the new Christmas lights with the help of Re Connected and Father Christmas.

The lights switch is only the start of the Wilmslow Christmas Festival which continues until Sunday 4th December with the Christmas market, ice-skating rink on Banks Square and Santa's Grotto in the Romany Caravan.
