Actress Frances Barber helped to unveil the new Best Western brand signage at the Pinewood on Wilmslow earlier this week.

She joined hotel general manager John Scott and his team in celebrating the achievement of this important stage in the Hotel's redevelopment plan, which includes upgrading hotel services and facilities following its purchase in May this year by a partnership of the four directors from the award winning Best Western Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.

The Olivier Award nominated actress, who memorably appeared in a cameo role in Dr Who earlier this year, stayed at the Best Western Pinewood on Wilmslow and took the opportunity to join in the celebrations of the completion of the Hotel's rebrand to Best Western.

Frances said: "I am thrilled to be able to help the Hotel celebrate the culmination of months of hard work that has been dedicated to making this rebranding happen.

"If the warm welcome that I received from the Hotel's fabulous team is anything to go by, I can only imagine that this Hotel will go from strength to strength."

Hotel general manager John Scott added: "The rebranding to Best Western is a key step forward for the Hotel. Being able to market the Hotel both nationally and internationally through the consortia initiatives and brand network will help to improve our competitiveness and also bring new corporate and leisure business to the area."

Frances stayed at the Best Western Pinewood on Wilmslow whilst acting in a short film called Advance to Contact, working with the Wilmslow born Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actor Scott Ryan Vickers.

The 25-minute film aims to promote Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affecting soldiers and was being filmed in the area. To find out more about the film read my previous articles about the filming of Advance to Contact.
