Following the success of last year's show, which saw just under 5000 people gathered to enjoy the fun packed day, plans are well underway for the 100th Wilmslow Show.

Organisers are hoping for a bumper turnout on Sunday 10th July, and to mark this occasion they are planning to stage something very special.

A whole host of events have been booked including a special Battle of Britain memorial flight over the field by the RAF.

Imagine FM will be broadcasting live throughout the day and entertainment for the children will include a fun fair, pony rides, mini pet zoo and Longhorn cattle.

To keep the adults amused over 350 classic cars will be on display, there will be a chainsaw carving demo and a 1970s BBC TV Outside Broadcast Unit 'Scanner'.

Arena events will include a fun dog show, birds of prey display and the ever popular Dog and Duck show. Music will be provided by the Wilmslow High School Wind Band, the KEMS Concert Band and the Hazel Grove Silver Band together with the Bourbon Street Roof-Raisers jazz band.

Refreshments will be available from the licensed bar, hog roast and a large variety of hot and cold food ranging from fish and chips to Thai cuisine.

The competitions in the flower tent, organised by the Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Horticultural and Rose Society, offer something for everyone with classes for young people and beginners so you don't have to be an expert to enter.

They are free to enter and cover everything from flower arranging to cookery and handicrafts to photography.

The Wilmslow Show will take place at Wilmslow High School from 11am to 5pm on Sunday July 10th. Visit the Wilmslow Show website for further information and if you would like to book a trade stand at the show, email the show secretary Elizabeth Myers.
