Business awards launch

Guests were invited to the launch of the first Macclesfield and Wilmslow Business Awards on Wednesday, 25th May.

Members of the local business community and the Mayor of Macclesfield attended the event at East Cheshire Hospice, the awards nominated charity.

The awards have been created by NatWest in Macclesfield to celebrate the success, talent and all that's good about business in Macclesfield and Wilmslow. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at Capesthorne Hall on Thursday 10th November.

Nominations open on 1st July and close on 30th September, self and third party nominations are welcome and there will be ten award categories.

The award categories include: Business of the Year (Turnover up to £5m), Business of the Year (Turnover over £5m), Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in customer service, The Sustainability Award, Most Promising New Business, Independent Retailer of the Year, Achievement in International Business, Innovation and Design and Excellence in People Development.

Tim Hine, Relationship Director at NatWest Bank said, "These awards are about a feel good factor, celebrating the excellent businesses in the area and recognising the people that have made a positive contribution to the success of the local business community.

"There is still room for some more sponsors and opportunities remain open for a main sponsor and category sponsors."
