Can you spot the next Nigella?

Lindow Primary School pupils swapped their classroom for a kitchen when a Design & Technology lesson got a very tasty twist. Local restaurant Pizza Express in Wilmslow again opened it doors to budding chefs to demonstrate their skills.

Having been tasked with designing their own Italian restaurant logo, they were then invited to create an equally individual pizza. Copying pizzaiolo’s dough stretching technique, the Year 4 pupils then tasted ingredients and topped their pizzas with truly Mediterranean style. The highlight of the visit was a behind the scenes tour, while the expert staff cooked each of the 20 unique pizzas.

Class teacher Rachel Pengelly said ”I’m not sure we have a budding Nigella Lawson or Heston Blumenthal in class but we all had a fabulous time!

"Children today are very interested in cooking and ingredients, thanks to the plethora of TV programmes dedicated to food, we are very grateful to Pizza Express who offered us an excellent learning experience.”
