Don Stockton wins Wilmslow Lacey Green ward election

Conservative candidate Don Stockton has won the Wilmslow Lacey Green ward election with 50.5% of the vote.

Councillor Stockton received 770 votes compared with the Liberal Democratic candidate Oliver Romain who received 420 votes and Labour candidate Jon Kelly with 332 votes.

Turnout at the local election was 43.1% and 9 votes were rejected.

Don Stockton, 50, previously owned a business in Wilmslow before selling it and becoming a councillor nearly 3 years ago.

Speaking after the result was announced, he told me " I am delighted to win and get over 50% of the vote. I would like to thank people for showing their confidence in me and electing me to represent their area which I will do to the best of ability."
