Woman trapped in overturned car

A woman had to be cut from her car after it collided with a roundabout on the A34 last night, Tuesday 5th April.

The collision occurred at approximately 6.30pm when the BMW overturned on the roundabout near Wilmslow High School.

Two fire crews attended the scene where they were assisted by the police and paramedics.

The vehicle ended up on its roof, causing the woman, who was travelling on her own, to be trapped in the car.

She was released from the BMW by firefighters at 7.50pm and taken to Wythenshaw Hospital for treatment, having suffered from head injuries. Her condition is currently unknown.

Diversions were put in place as the police had to close the road.

The A34 was reopened at 10.40pm.
