England's biggest ever litter pick is coming to local railway stations.

The Big Tidy Up is a nationwide campaign backed by Keep Britian Tidy and supported by Northern Rail and British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. It will be held at Handforth Station on Saturday, 12th March, and Styal Station on Tuesday, 15th March.

Secretary Rob Sawyer, said "We aim to uncover some of the old station gardens and plant some fruit bushes. We may also erect some nesting boxes and in Styal we hope to uncover the large STYAL lettering on the embankment."

The tidy ups will commence at 10am, with coffee being served from 9.30am, and finish at approximately 3.30pm.

People are welcome to join the events for the whole day, and receive a free BBQ lunch, or for as little as an hour.
