Full back Tom Hudson, from Wilmslow High School has been selected to play in the England Under 16s rugby squad.

Having joined Wilmslow High School in October, Tom has proved to be a key player in both the school's 1st XV and also the U16s where he has ignited the school's backline at times this season. At 6' 2" and with plenty of pace, Tom is able to exploit any gaps in the opposition defence.

Tom is a long-serving member of Macclesfield Rugby Club and has trained regularly with Sale Sharks as a member of their Elite Player Development Group. He has also represented Cheshire at Under 16 level this season and was subsequently selected to play for the North of England in the divisional festival at Broadstreet RFC in Coventry.

As a result of his performances Tom has been selected for the England Under 16 squad and will attend a training camp during the February half-term at Abingdon School. The attacking full back will then take part in a further training camp next month at Stowe School, Buckingham. After which, Tom is hoping to be selected for the full England Under 16 team to play against Italy and Wales later this term.

Tom certainly aims high - his goals are to gain an England Under-16 Cap, to win the Daily Mail Cup with Wilmslow High School and to become a professional rugby player.
