Following a great tradition in drama and music, this year Pownall Hall School presented 'Annie' the musical to their parents and the public.

On Tuesday afternoon local care home residents from Handforth, Wilmslow and Mobberley were invited to see the show and enjoy a few hours being entertained by the pupils and budding actors, actresses and singers of Pownall Hall School. A full theatre of the elderly and carers also enjoyed refreshments and a raffle of prizes in the interval.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Honford Hall staff said "We think it is wonderful that Pownall Hall School invites us along to these events, our residents really enjoy getting out and seeing the children in such beautiful surroundings.. and it only costs us our transport!"

The polished performances were then held on the following evenings. The lead roles were taken by the year 6 pupils with 'Annie' being played by Sarah Barron. Children in years 4 and 5 also joined the cast.

Mr Jonathan Hall, Headmaster stated "It was the first production that I have seen, and the children were all so fantastic and enjoyed themselves so much that I was really impressed. Our drama and music teachers Mrs Annabel Anderson and Mrs Rachel Steadman have really worked hard, along with the children, of course. It is a great finale to our school year and something of an achievement for the year 6 children to look back on as they leave us this year."
