Alderley Edge School for Girls celebrates outstanding GCSE results

Alderley Edge School for Girls is celebrating the remarkable success of its Year 11 pupils in their GCSE examinations. This year, a third of all grades achieved were 9-8, while 50% of all grades were 9-7.

There have been some incredible individual successes with Laura Wolstencroft achieving 11 Grade 9s, Hannah Graham achieved 7 Grade 9s, a Grade 8.5 and 2 Grade 8s, Katie Hiscocks achieved 7 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, Lucy Flanaghan has received 6 Grade 9s, a Grade 8 and two Grade 7s, Alanda Goodwin has received 5 Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and two Grade 7s and Sarah Aldarabsah has received 3 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s.

There have been many individual subject successes including Further Maths in which 100% of all Grades were 9-7. Also, in the sciences. 93% of all Grades in Physics were 9-7, 90% of all Grades in Chemistry were 9-7 and 87% of all Grades in Biology were 9-7 demonstrating that girls excel in the Sciences at girls' schools. 88% of all Grades in Computing were 9-7, as an Apple Distinguished School AESG is hugely proud of the girls' achievements in this subject. 82% of all Grades in Business were 9-7 and 83% of all Grades in Religion and Philosophy were 9-7.

Acting Headmistress, Mrs Wood, said: "I am absolutely thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our pupils in this year's GCSE examinations. The girls' outstanding results reflect their hard work, dedication and perseverance in all of their subjects. As well as the unwavering support of our talented staff and the broader school community, these accomplishments not only highlight the academic excellence within our school but also underscore our commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where every girl can thrive and reach her full potential. We are incredibly proud of all of our pupils and look forward to seeing their continued success."

Head of Year 11, Mrs Waite added: "I am incredibly proud of our Year 11s as they receive their GCSE results today. These achievements are a testament to all their hard work and determination. As our students move on to the next stages of their lives, I am confident that they will continue to celebrate many more successes, equipped with the many #BeMore skills they have developed during their time at AESG including becoming more resilient, responsible and curious."

The School would also like to congratulate its Year 10 pupils for their superb HPQ results.
