Plans for retirement apartments on police station site

Plans have been submitted for a 56 retirement flats on the site currently occupied by Wilmslow Police Station.

McCarthy Stone are proposing to 56 retirement apartments along with communal facilities including a residents' lounge, multi-use function space, guest suite for relatives and visitors, communal storerooms, staff office, internal refuse store, and cycle/mobility scooter storage with charging points.

The three and a half storey building will have a lift to each floor and contain 27 one bedroom and 29 two bedroom apartments.

The scheme includes landscaped gardens to the west of the site and 43 car parking spaces for homeowners, staff and visitors to the south of the site.

Cheshire Constabulary have already submitted plans to build a a new two storey police station at their site which will be located on the site of the existing car park where there are currently 35 spaces. The new station building will accommodate multipurpose spaces - including an interview room, a gym for the officers on ground floor, the kitchen, rest rooms and open plan offices on the first floor along with with 15 car parking spaces.

Both the new police station and McCarthy Stone apartments shall share the same entrance off Beech Lane.
