Reader's Letter: Litter and fly tipping

I have taken some photos of rubbish that has been dumped this weekend just off the A34 bypass. On the road to Total Fitness.

The rubbish should be easily identified as there is a pink child's car. Someone must recognize it. Someone has either

paid someone to dispose of this rubbish or they have a total disregard for the environment and dumped it themselves.

Whilst walking around Handforth and Wilmslow I have noticed a huge increase in the amount of rubbish and litter around.

There is also an abandoned car with all the windows smashed, filled with wood at the side of the mermaid pub in Handforth. It looks like someone is ready to burn it out.

I have reported this to the council.

I agree that this is a disgrace and also of course criminal behaviour. However, I doubt very much that the culprits are local so the chance of anyone recognising the rubbish is surely very slim? I suspect someone has dumped it en route to somewhere else, I doubt very much they are from the Wilmslow/Handforth area. Hopefully the Police and Council can work together to take action on this, CCTV at flytipping locations for example, and more proactivity in bringing prosecutions against offenders.

I noticed what was clearly a large bag of rubbish dumped on the bypass today. Just disgusting.

There was a recent BBC news report on a council in Kent which installed cameras to catch motorists littering. This is definitely something Cheshire East should consider for the A34 which some people think is a dumping ground for rubbish.
