Wilmslow charity preparing for souper fundraiser

Supporters of Wilmslow Wells for Africa are busy preparing for their next event - by baking cakes, making bread and chopping vegetables for soup.

Their ever popular Souperday will be held at Wilmslow Methodist Church from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, 7th March, where all the money raised will help to fund their projects.

Jenny Gibbs said "One such project was in Malawi. We cannot imagine going to a Health Centre where there is an inadequate water supply but the Health Centre you helped had only an unreliable borehole to supply water.

"So often no water to take tablets; wash hands; have a drink. This busy centre is always overwhelmed with families in need and often 2,500 arrive on ART Clinic days. Now the borehole is repaired and water is also piped to the Centre. These dependable sources provide clean water to the staff, patients and local households. So every bowl of soup and bread sold, cake enjoyed enables changes such as this to happen. "

Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children which includes soup, bread and a hot drink.
