On a glorious Thursday evening, Lindow welcomed high-flying Premier League side Toft to Upcast Lane for a T20 Cup match.

With a couple of regular 1st teamers missing, stand-in captain Alex Matthews won the toss and batted. The large crowd were then treated to a batting masterclass from Lindow's Major Khan who continued his fine run of form scoring 88 with sixes being hit to all parts. He was well supported by Bobby Hassard (23) and Grant Waldron (21) leaving Lindow on 165-8 off their 20 overs.

Lindow's season so far has been a story of tight bowling and fielding with high-intensity and this game was no different. With early wickets and a noisy home crowd behind them, Lindow sensed the opportunity of a big upset, but as 47-4 became 70-4 the visitors started to regain their position. Then Waldron struck, removing Scott for 26 and Lindow seized their chance. 3 wickets a piece for Young and Raja, backed up by excellent spells from Matthews, Waldron and Mcbride, saw Toft finish on 137-9 giving Lindow a well deserved win. Focus now must shift back to continuing their winning run in the league so that in the not too distant future they can plays sides like Toft on a weekly basis in the league. The way the club has developed over the last few years, you wouldn't bet against it.
