Although this year's Alderley Edge Festival is still five months away, the committee has been working hard, putting together the syllabus which contains details of all the classes for performers of music, speech and drama.

The 2018 Festival, which will take place from Tuesday 8th to Saturday 12th May, will feature over 160 competitive classes for school-aged performers of all abilities, as well as open classes and several for entrants of any age.

Maria Rushton said "Whether you are a novice recorder player or a piano virtuoso; whether you can recite a simple piece of verse or a Shakespearean soliloquy, there will be a class for you to showcase your musical or dramatic talent in front of professional adjudicators."

Copies of the syllabus are available from Travel by Design and Alderley Edge Library. It is also available online. Entries are made online via our website and the closing date is 16th February 2018.

Maria added "It is an uplifting experience to behold all who perform and attend."
