The Parish Church in Wilmslow will be open on Saturday, 9th September, to welcome cyclists and walkers taking part in the Ride and Stride event.

Organised by the Historic Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust and the National Churches Trust, the event is encouraging people to raise money for their local church and for Cheshire Churches by walking, cycling or riding between as many churches as they can.

St Bart's Church will be open from 10am to 4pm when they will be welcoming walkers and cyclists from all over Cheshire and offering a number of activities.

Isobel Chetwood, PCC Secretary, said "We will be offering tours of the church including trips up the spiral staircase to the bell tower so they can enjoy the views over Wilmslow and the Carrs – if they are not too weary! There will be refreshments, a plant stall and activities for children throughout the day."

Refreshments will be availably until 3pm with sandwiches served at lunchtime. Then from 1.30pm to 2.30pm visitors can enjoy bell ringing followed by an organ recital from 3pm to 3.45pm.

Isobel added "We would be happy to see visitors whilst we are open, whether or not they are taking part in the Ride and Stride event. We are pleased to support the HCCPT in keeping our beautiful Cheshire churches in good repair for future generations to enjoy."
