
M R Hall, author of the best-selling crime series featuring coroner Jenny Cooper, will be talking about his latest book in the series, A Life to Kill at Wilmslow Library on Thursday, 2nd March from 2.30pm.
Born in London in 1967, Mr Hall was educated at Hereford Cathedral School and Worcester College, Oxford, where he graduated in law. During a career at the Bar, working mostly in the field of criminal law, he learnt the craft of screen writing, eventually getting his first commission in television writing an episode of the ITV hit series, Kavanagh QC starring John Thaw.
For over ten years Matthew has been a screen writer and producer, and has written over forty hours of prime time drama for BBC1 and ITV.
His debut novel, The Coroner, was published in the UK in 2009 and nominated for the Crime Writer's Association Gold Dagger in the best novel category.
Librarian Emily Morrey said "Our previous author event was a great success, and with the current popularity of crime and thriller books as well as M R Hall being a high profile author, we are expecting this to be another popular event."
