Are you 'Snoofing' on the train?

The Friends of Handforth Station have exhibited many items provided by Irish Rail over the years, starting with the first foreign railway's "Handforth" totem sign which has now been followed by more that a dozen others ranging from the Isle of Man via German Railways to Docklands Light Railway.

Next came the ever changing poems in Poets Corner, which Irish Rail has provided for many years, and more recently an item from their "Urban Traveler Dictionary" - a poster featuring 'Mobile-Phoney' - has been on display.

This has now been replaced with "Snoofing" (If you don't know what this is, you need to visit the station to find out more.)

John Reville, Business Manager at Irish Rail. said "I hope people identify with the intention behind the Urban Traveler and hope that the words and their meanings bring a smile to those who commute through Handforth station."

Mike Bishop, founder of the station group, commented " This is another unique partnership with Irish Rail and we look forward to another original international initiative in the New Year."
