Children invited to compete for the cups

Styal school Show Sheild

Pupils across Wilmslow and the surrounding area, are being invited to take part in the annual competitions at The Wilmslow Show.

There are four categories in the horticultural competitions to enter; cookery, handicraft, natural history and painting, where children enter independently of their school for personal cash prizes. Each of their winning entries will also be collated as points towards The Macclesfield Arts Cup.

The Company Shield, is awarded to the school whose pupils gain the most points, across the four categories.

Local schools have already received their invites to create an exhibition of artwork produced in school by the pupils, and displayed by the teachers in the horticultural marquee at the Wilmslow Show on Sunday 10th July.

Judging takes place on the morning of the show and the winning exhibit will receive The Macclesfield Arts Cup.

Families can participate with individual entries, for more information visit the Wilmslow Show website.
