Witness appeal following accident on Alderley Edge Bypass

Two cars were involved in an accident on the Alderley Edge Bypass on Wednesday, 23rd March.

The collision involving a BMW and a Nissan Qashqai occurred at 7.11pm.

Two fire crews, one from Wilmslow and one from Cheadle, attended the collision as one of the cars was on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

There were two casualties, one male and one female, who were cared for by paramedics before being taken to to Wythenshawe Hospital by ambulance.

Both drivers were later released with injuries believed to be minor.

A road closure was put in place and traffic Traffic was diverted along through the village whilst collision investigators attended the scene highways cleared debris from the road.
