Artisan Market adds a little extra foodie excitement

A programme of food-related events are taking place across the town this week as Wilmslow host its second Food & Drink Week to encourage residents and visitors alike to discover and enjoy the range of food and drink options available.

Restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels, cafes and sandwich shops are all participating - culminating in the Wilmslow Artisan Market on Saturday 19th March.

As well as your most favourite artisans, organiser Denise Valente will also be adding a little extra foodie excitement to the event.

Denise said "Bring the children along to make vegetable creatures with Madame Zucchini, vegetable entertainer, and watch her perform Vegetable Star Wars with Leek Skywalker & Darth Tater, also Pirates of the Carrotbean with Cap'n Jack Marrow & Kiwi Knightley. And watch out for her courgette costume walkabout!"

Show times will be 11am and 1pm with veggie workshops running throughout the day.

There will also be live cooking demonstrations from celebrity chef Nigel Brown, from The Ropewalk in Barton upon Humber, looking at how to cook great food using leftovers and save yourselves up to £60 per month - as well as demonstrating some recipes from his award winning cookbook 'NB. How To Cook'.

Denise added "Pop along and pick up an eclectic treasure, some delicious temptations or get a few quirky inspirational ideas from the very finest artisans of the region and enjoy the shows, workshops and demos and then grab a bite to eat from our sensational street foodies.

"Hope you can join us for a fantastic foodie extravaganza."

Wilmslow Artisan Market will take place on Alderley Road from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 19th March.
