Whilst Helen Yates, Secretary of Wilmslow In Bloom, explained to the Chancellor that their long-term goal is to be selected by the Bloom judges to represent the north west in the nationals.

Ruth McNulty said "Next year we particularly want to commemorate the anniversary of the breaking of the Enigma code. Alan Turing was a resident here in Wilmslow and a local group is working on a dedicated floral display to mark this achievement and our pride that we have in his legacy. We are looking forward to sharing the initial designs for the planting."

George Osborne said: "I have seen first-hand the incredible work the Edible Wilmslow in Bloom team does in our community, engaging local people in making Wilmslow a great place to live. Congratulations to all of the volunteers."
