RHS judges visited Chorley and Styal this week to assess them against other similar sized villages for the RHS North West In Bloom competition.
David Bielawski, who visited Wilmslow last year, and Trevor Lees, the North West in Bloom secretary, took a tour of the villages on Tuesday, 14th July.
They were shown a mixture of council, voluntary, business and residential planting for Styal and Chorley's first entries into the regional competition.
Chorley have entered into the Village category whilst Styal the Large Village category, so they are not competing against one another but instead have been working together to help support each other's entry and improve the overall appearances of the area.
Helen Yates of Wilmslow In Bloom said "Both groups have been invited to the award ceremony in Southport, which is promising. Hopefully, Wilmslow will be invited too and we will have a good local crowd."
On Thursday, 23rd July, the Wilmslow In Bloom team will meet two new judges, Bernard Pendleton and Brendan Cook and show them around the town.
