Wilmslow Library is hosting four free events next week for Adult Learners Week.

On Monday 15th June local residents are invited to drop in between 10am and 12noon for advice on how to get started online with your tablet, with the Peaks & Plains Housing Trust. Bring your own tablet, but if you don't have one Peaks & Plains will be bringing some along for you to try.

On Tuesday 16th June there will be a Dementia Friends Information Session from 10am to 11.30am. This will be a relaxed and informative session to enable people to understand and support those living with dementia within the community. Their Dementia Champion will explain what it's like to live with dementia and the actions that can be taken in everyday situations.

Local residents will have the opportunity to create their own fascinator between 10am and 12noon on Wednesday 17th June. Techniques will be demonstrates by Moira from Whirley Sewing, who will then be on hand to give guidance and advice whilst everyone creates their own fascinator. All materials will be provided - just bring your own dexterity and a little imagination!

Then on Thursday 18th June Joy Winkler, the former Cheshire Poet Laureate will present her new collection of poems, which use flowers and links to nature to reflect on events, people and memories, at 2.30pm. Joy will be sharing her work, inviting discussion about the ways in which the natural world can inspire us, and selling and signing copies of her book.

All of the sessions are free of charge, but please phone Wilmslow Library to book a place on 01625 374060. You do not need to book ahead for the 'Your Tablet Online' drop-in session. Refreshments will be available and donations welcome.
