St. Benedict's has become the latest school to take on DIPZY, a project which has been designed to tackle dangerous parking during school rush hours.
The project is being run by PCSO Harding and the schools road safety officers Sam and Polly and adopts an alternative approach by involving the pupils in trying to solve the problems that so many schools face every day.
DIPZY stands for Double parking, In's and out's, Pavements, Zig Zag lines, and Yellow lines.
As part of the project, pupils at the school will be asked to design their own tickets for dangerously parked cars. The tickets will then be placed on offending vehicles by the PCSOs and the school's road safety officers.
It is hoped that this approach will make motorists think again before leaving their cars in dangerous positions in the future.
Inspector Alan Fairclough said "The road safety officers will be going out with officers at collection time and issuing tickets that the pupils themselves have designed to make people think about the issues they create when they park their vehicle dangerously or illegally near a school.
"This project will be running until the end of the school year and has proved to be popular and successful at other schools in the area where it has educated parents in how they park their vehicles when dropping off and picking up their children."

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
These parents need to visit a hospital mortuary to see children laid out following road traffic accidents and maybe then they would realise the stupidity of their ways.
If they could drive right into the classrooms they would do it rather than walk a few extra yards.
Well done St Benedict's!
