Wilmslow-based Complete Vehicle Maintenance is the latest business to commit to Wilmslow High School's Achievement Partner programme; an initiative that is partnering with local businesses and community groups to provide students with opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence and gain life experiences beyond the classroom.

Since launching in November last year, CVM has completed over 140 mobile appointments (routine service and repairs), at customers' places of work and at home, across the South Manchester area.

Focusing on employability, the partnership will provide students at the High School with work experience placements, taster sessions and bespoke practical hands-on apprenticeship training for those wanting careers in vehicle maintenance.

Additionally, CVM will support the wider Achievement Partner agenda by hosting visits at its Beech Lane headquarters, offering careers talks and exploring sponsorship opportunities.

Managing director Jon Pinnington commented, "We're a local business committed to our local High School, particularly as a third of our office based employees were students at the school. Developing opportunities for young people in our community is a core priority as our business continues to grow in 2015 and beyond. We are really looking forward to working with Wilmslow High School in a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership."

Assistant Headteacher Mark Vincent added, "Building sustainable business partnerships with companies such as CVM helps us to ensure that our students have access to high quality work based opportunities. For some young people, these experiences can not only inspire future career choices but boost confidence and give more context to their academic studies, as they understand the importance of gaining particular qualifications."
