An enthusiastic group of volunteers planted seven new apple trees in The Carrs on Sunday, 1st February.
These were to replace the five that were recently destroyed by vandals as well as two, from the original planting, that had died.
The trees and equipment was organised by Chris Frankland of Frankland Tree Services who was joined by five people from Transition Wilmslow, Colin Shepherd from The Friends of the Carrs and Philly Frankland.
The cost of the trees was covered by members of Transition Wilmslow.
Garry Olsen, from Transition Wilmslow, commented "They look strong and healthy and we are very hopeful about their future."
Colin Shepherd, from Friends of The Carrs, said "The Friends are delighted that it has been possible to replace the vandalised trees so quickly and are grateful for the contribution made by the members of Transition Wilmslow. Sadly we face a constant battle against vandalism on The Carrs and suffer a high rate of loss with the saplings that the Friends plant.
"We are determined however to maintain The Carrs for future generations and will replace losses whenever possible."
