Harvest celebrations at St Benedict's

Over 80 parents attended the harvest assembly at St Benedict's School on Friday, 17th October.

Reception children dressed as scarecrows and sang "Dingle Dangle Scarecrow" whilst Year 6 pupils reminded children and parents that not all people have access to a fair share of food.

Ann Dawson from Hampers of Hope came along to collect the harvest gifts that the kind parents had donated. The food will be shared amongst families in the Cheshire area who do not have enough money to buy food to feed their families.

Head teacher Mrs Jane Gornell said "We would like to say a big thank you to Mr and Mrs Shenton for providing such a marvellous display of fruit, flowers and vegetables."

Cristel & I had the pleasure of attending the Harvest Festival. We loved Reception's Dingle Dangle scarecrow - and the outfits! The children's readings were very moving, showing their understanding of other people's needs. Thank you so much for inviting us and for all the wonderful food that helps to fill our storeas we prepare for Christmas.
