New signs pointing pedestrians in the direction of the library, leisure centre, The Carrs and the Memorial Gardens have been installed in Wilmslow town centre this week.
They are located at Wilmslow station, in South Drive at the exit from the car parks and at both ends of Grove Street.
Cheshire East Cllr Rod Menlove said "There are now numerous initiatives to encourage more people to 'Get into Wilmslow' and it is right and proper to have signage to direct visitors to the main features of the town.
"Funding of such items is always a challenge and I am pleased to say that we have managed to identify a Section 106 contribution to cover the costs so that it is not a charge to the council tax payer. These fingerpost signs are a small initiative but add to the ongoing work to support the image of Wilmslow."
Wilmslow Town Cllr Ruth McNulty added "We liaised on where the signs should be placed and on the design. There are numerous options of fingerposts and we settled on the chosen design and colours as a good reflection of the positive image of Wilmslow. They add to all the other work to impress the In Bloom judges who will be in Wilmslow this Thursday."
